Keep Your Guard Up

“Keep Your Guard Up” is the exciting, inspiring safety speech and presentation designed by Termite Watkins. Unlike many of the safety talks which are dull, unimaginative, and difficult to remember, Termite’s presentation fully captures the attention of his listeners with the compelling stories of his journey in life and the resulting success.

When safety is your goal, the best guidance you can provide your team members is an enthusiastic, passionate speech from a speaker they won’t soon forget. You will find this enthusiasm and vigor in former professional fighter and Olympic boxing coach – Maurice “Termite” Watkins. Leave nothing to chance. Make it your priority to choose, introduce, and present an educational experience that will save lives.

“In the darkest of moments, one man inspired a team, a country… yes, even the world.”

15 Rounds of Life

Termite’s contagious attitude and remarkable life experience will captivate and inspire participants to adopt more effective sales techniques. This isn’t your old school seminar! 15 Rounds of Life is a very unique learning seminar conducted inside a working boxing Gym. If you are tired of dull, uneventful classes with monotone speakers, then this is the seminar for you! Termite integrates proven sales skills with hands-on boxing techniques that are effective both in and out of the ring.

Termite’s wisdom comes from his own successful career as a salesman and boxer. He believes that the ability to sell something is a skill that can be learned. However, he also teaches that good character, positivity, and a courteous attitude towards customers should always be a priority.

This seminar can be modified for a 2 hour or 8 hour presentation. The invigorating 2 hour speaking presentation can be hosted inside the gym, or at a location of your choosing. The more comprehensive 8 hour hands-on learning experience (coupled with the speaking presentation) can only be experienced in Termite’s gym: where champions are trained.

Studies have shown that using multiple senses when processing information and engaging in a hands-on method increases an individual’s ability to retain valuable information and store it for future use in critical situations.

When Life Knocks You Down

Based on his favorite verse —Phil 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”—Termite feels strongly motivated to share the inspirational story of where his true strength is found. It is not found in his own vitality, but in the Lord’s.

Termite enjoyed a very successful boxing career in his youth, and yet he has suffered many failures as well. He knows all too well how it feels when life knocks you down. He has learned firsthand the pain of hitting rock bottom, only to experience the most important truth of all: God is near to the brokenhearted and He is our ever present help in time of need.

Termite also met with seemingly insurmountable obstacles throughout his journey in Iraq. Through it all he was reminded over and over again that with God, you can always find a way through every challenge. Regardless of your obstacles, God will supply every single thing you need to succeed.

With When Life Knocks You Down, your congregation or audience will be inspired by the Lord through Termite to “fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

An Olympic Dream that Changed the World

“The story of an American Prize Fighter who went to Iraq to kill bugs and built an Olympic team instead.”

Termite’s Iraq speech begins and ends with a message of overcoming obstacles.

From the age of 10 years old his passion was to be a champion. He realized that dream many times over by becoming our nation’s first 16 year old Golden Gloves Champion (with an amateur record of 128 wins and 10 losses), by becoming a professional boxer (with a record of 58 wins, 5 losses, 2 draws, and 48 knock-outs), and by concluding his career with a fight for the coveted world title! After his legendary career he was asked to go to Iraq and use his pest control skills to rid our US military camps of bugs, scorpions, and snakes. Through a series of events he was soon asked to coach and qualify the Iraqi boxing team for the 2004 Olympics.

He inspired the world and will inspire you as well, with his story of incredible perseverance overcoming daunting obstacles as he helped a vulnerable Iraq reach their Olympic dreams!
